Go Nautic boosts efficiency thanks to the Proliner

Go Nautic Zeilmakerij is a traditional sailmaking company based in Nijkerkerveen. The company has been in business for eight years and currently employs five people. In addition to its main location, Go Nautic has a separate workshop where boats up to seven meters in length can be placed indoors. This additional space makes it possible to work efficiently even in less favorable weather conditions.

Go Nautic produces, among other things, sprayhoods, boat covers, and tents, with a strong focus on manufacturing sprayhoods. The company reached a point where it had to decide between hiring additional staff or automating the production process. Ultimately, they chose automation by investing in the Proliner together with the Marine Canvas Package.

Previously, templates were made manually using plastic that was taped to the boat, after which all measurements were drawn onto it. These markings were then transferred to fabric in the sewing workshop. This was a very labor-intensive and time-consuming process.

Saskia tells us: “Since introducing the Proliner, the patterns are measured digitally and delivered directly and completely to the sewing workshop. This has made the work much easier and significantly shortened production time. The measuring process itself is also much faster: what used to take three hours with two employees can now be done by one employee in about one hour.”

Once the team has fully mastered working with the Proliner, Go Nautic aims to take on more complex projects and continue improving the precision and efficiency of template making. According to them, the biggest advantage of the Proliner is its speed, which directly contributes to lower personnel costs.

Go Nautic first encountered the Proliner a few years ago at the Metstrade show in Amsterdam. At that time, there was no need for a digital measuring system, but with increasing demand and the need to work more efficiently, the Proliner has now become indispensable.
