Vetreria Calasso is Turning Challenges into Masterpieces with the Proliner Glass Package

In the town of Copertino, located in the heart of Puglia, Italy, Vetreria Calasso has spent over 50 years bringing artistic visions to life through glass. Known as one of Southern Italy’s largest and most innovative glassworks, the company is celebrated for its dedication to delivering high-quality, tailor-made glass solutions.

Their expertise spans a variety of glass products, from tempered and laminated glass to oversized and curved panes. The company also offers specialized installation services, including projects that require the use of cranes for large or complex structures. Behind every project is a team of skilled artisans and technicians, each committed to blending precision and creativity. Their work doesn’t just meet expectations—it exceeds them, transforming raw ideas into stunning, functional glass pieces.

A Decade with the Proliner

For over ten years, Vetreria Calasso has relied on the Proliner Glass Package to help bring their most demanding glass designs to life. According to Giuseppe Calasso, the tool has become an essential part of their daily operations, enabling them to handle complex projects with confidence and precision.

“The Proliner is used every day in our company to tackle all kinds of projects, from simple tasks to the most intricate designs. It guarantees the highest precision and quality in the final product,” said Giuseppe.

The Proliner has allowed Vetreria Calasso to take their craft to the next level by providing unmatched accuracy in measuring both flat and curved glass installations. With its unique mechanical pen technology, the Proliner enables them to transform challenging designs into reality, even those that previously seemed impossible.

Two notable projects completed in Manduria (TA) stand out as excellent examples of how Vetreria Calasso has leveraged the Proliner’s capabilities to create beautiful and functional glass structures.

Project #1: Curved Parapets

For a private residence in Manduria, Vetreria Calasso created a set of stunning curved parapets using laminated tempered glass and steel stringers. The design required precise measurements to ensure that each piece of glass fit seamlessly into place.

The process began with a three-dimensional survey using the Proliner, which allowed the team to capture the curves and angles of the parapets accurately. From these measurements, the team was able to produce detailed flat designs that would guide the precise cutting and shaping of the glass. This combination of 3D technology and traditional craftsmanship ensured that the final product was not only visually striking but also durable and safe.

Project #2: Spiral Staircase

Another remarkable project involved the creation of a helical staircase with curved, tempered, laminated balustrades. Spiral staircases are visually impressive but also technically challenging, requiring extreme precision to ensure that each curve aligns perfectly with the structure.

The Proliner played a crucial role in this project by providing accurate 3D measurements of the staircase’s curves. These measurements were then converted into 2D designs for the glass pieces. While the machining of the glass was done in 2D, the data collected from the Proliner allowed the team to execute the design with remarkable accuracy. The end result was a stunning spiral staircase that seamlessly integrated technology and craftsmanship, offering both beauty and strength.

The Proliner Advantage

Giuseppe Calasso emphasizes how the Proliner transforms glass fabrication:

Time Efficiency – Cuts surveying time dramatically, enabling faster project completion and greater client satisfaction.

Detail & Accuracy – Captures intricate shapes with precision, essential for custom glass designs.

However, technology is only part of the equation. “The Proliner gathers data, but our team of experts and years of experience turn it into flawless designs,” says Giuseppe.

While the Proliner simplifies measurements, Vetreria Calasso’s skill ensures perfection. Their passion for glass as an artistic medium sets them apart as industry leaders. Want more information? Contact Prodim at info@prodim-systems.com to learn more.
